Brands that test on animals

Here’s the naughty list – the list of companies and brands that test on animals – all available in India, and broken down by categories. These brands fall in this list because they have failed one or more of our cruelty-free criteria.

We’ve used multiple sources to identify these brands that test on animals – resources by certifying bodies, brand policies, and our own research. Most of the brands listed here are owned by huge, well-known parent companies, or are the parent brands themselves. Some of the brands mentioned here may even surprise you!

This list is in no way an exhaustive one. We’ve tried our best to include all brands that test on animals, in this list. We also regularly revisit this list so that it carries only the most up-to-date information. To know the standards a brand has to fail to be included in this list, read our post on defining cruelty-free. To know which brands available in India are cruelty-free, please refer to our Cruelty-Free Brands List. Please note that some while some parent brands may appear in this list, some of the brands they own may feature in our cruelty-free list, because they have retained their ethical practices and their cruelty-free status.
